Widcombe Photos

Bath and North East Somerset Council is currently researching paths in the Widcombe Ward to determine whether or not they are public rights of way.  Paths which are found to be public rights of way will be included in a Legal Order and added to the Definitive Map and Statement for the City of Bath.

There are 34 paths included in the consultation and each path has a reference number to identify it.  Please look at the map and list on the right hand side of this page (under Other Related Information) to find the reference number of the path or paths you have used.  You will need to complete a separate online form for each path you have used.  Path 25 has been removed from the consultation.

Why are we consulting?

The purpose of this consultation is to help establish whether or not public rights of way exist over the routes included in the consultation and, if so, what kind of a right of way it is (i.e. on foot, on horseback, with vehicles).  You are asked to complete the questions as fully and as accurately as possible, because the Council will be able to make a more accurate decision if more information is available.

What happens next:

Once the consultation ends, the Public Rights of Way Team will compile a report including all of the information gathered and a recommendation will be made regarding each of the paths.  Those which can be reasonably alleged to be public rights of way will be included in a Legal Order.
