If you've recently told us about a change in your circumstances which may affect the amount of your Council Tax bill:
- This is the time of year that we calculate all the new Council Tax bills for 2017/18. So if you notify us about any changes between 25th February and 31st March; we’ll update the details on our system but we won't be able to send you a revised Council Tax bill straight away.
- This also means that your annual bill (dated 9th March 2017) will not reflect the change/s that you’ve told us about. You don’t need to contact us about this again, as we’ll send you a revised bill as soon as we can after 31st March 2017.
Council Tax is a property based tax payable on domestic (residential) homes. It is a local tax set by councils to help pay for local services, such as schools, libraries, and rubbish collections. The amount you have to pay is based on the value of the property and who lives there.
