Building work on Bath Central Library's rolling stack starts on 21 August 2017

From Monday 21 August, building works will start on the rolling stack at Bath Central Library. The rolling stack is where our closed access reference and reserve stock used to be stored.

The works are expected to take approx. 4 - 5 weeks.

During this time we won't have access to any of the back issues of newspapers or magazines that we hold.

Current issues will be available as usual. Access to the library and other services will be unaffected by these works.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Closed Access Reference Collection

The Closed Access Reference Collection at Bath Central Library has now moved into secure storage and is being cared for by the Council’s Record Management and Libraries’ Stock Teams. This collection still belongs to the Library Service and items can be requested for use within any Library in Bath and North East Somerset. A minimum of two working days’ warning is required. Items are reference only (i.e. they are not for loan).

Please speak to a member of Library Staff for further details.

The Local Studies Reference Collection has moved to the Guildhall

The majority of the Local Studies and Special Collections reference stock previously available in Bath Central Library is now available at the Archives and Local Studies Service in the Guildhall.

Local Studies lending books have not moved to the Guildhall and are still available to browse and borrow from Bath Central Library and local branch libraries. Read more.

Did you know we can send you reminders and alerts by email and text?
